PM Modi’s photo removed from Covid vaccine certificates

In a recent development, the Union Health Ministry updated the Covid vaccine certificates by removing the photo of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.The Union Ministry said that Modi’s picture has been removed as directed by the Election Commission of India (ECI) as Model Code of Conduct (MCC) is in place during ongoing Lok Sabha elections. While many speculated the acknowledgement of rare side effects with Covishield vaccines by Serum Institute of India (SII) is the reason behind the alteration of the certificates, MCC turned out to be the purpose.
