KOLKATA: On Friday, metro services experienced a significant disruption due to a technical malfunction in the signalling system that occurred between Park Street and Esplanade stations, as reported by a spokesperson from Metro Railway. This unexpected issue led to a temporary halt in train operations along this stretch.
As a result of the detected glitch, trains were only able to operate between the Maidan-Kavi Subhas and Dakshineswar-Girish Park stations, which span the southern and northern regions of the metro network. The glitch was initially identified by a vigilant motorman at approximately 11:30am, prompting immediate attention and action from metro authorities.
