  • KOLKATA: For those who couldn’t pre-plan their Puja holidays and those cancelling Sikkim trips at the last minute, IRCTC has launched the Queen of Hills (covering Takdah, Lamahatta, Tinchuley and other beautiful locales around Darjeeling) and Dooars (Samsing, Santhalikhola, Jhalong, Bindu, Murti and Lataguri) packages starting Saptami.

The five-night-six-day tour packages would cost an individual Rs 21,150 and Rs 18,850 respectively, including AC 3-tier train fare.

“The attractive tour packages from a reliable government agency like ours, being offered barely two weeks before the Pujas, have evoked much interest among Kolkatans. The products are flying off the shelves,” said Zafar Azam, IRCTC’s group general manager (GGM), east zone.

Starting October 21, travellers will be put up at deluxe hotels and taken on sight-seeing in comfortable buses and four-wheelers.
