West Bengal launches online platform for Panchayati Raj institutions

KOLKATA: Seuli Saha, the minister of state for panchayat & rural development (P&RD), unveiled the West Bengal Panchayat Management System (WBPMS) on Tuesday.
The online platform is designed to streamline and digitize all development programs, schemes, and activities undertaken by the three tiers of Panchayati Raj Institutions.
A key feature of this module is the digitization of the Monthly Report on Public Health generated during Gram Panchayat meetings held every 4th Saturday of the month.
Saha emphasized the portal's efficiency, providing access to a wealth of public health-related data with a single click, including child births, birth weights, infant and maternal mortality rates, communicable diseases, teenage marriages, and disaster preparedness, spanning from Gram Panchayat to State levels.
