Durgapur: The body of an academic from Durgapur working as a research guide at a university in Sweden — who was found dead in her apartment near the campus on September 30 — arrived at Kolkata from Sweden around 7.40am on Saturday.
Five family members received Roshni Das’s body and took it to their native village at Gobarhati, Kandi, in Murshidabad around 11.30am.
Das had last spoken to her mother on September 29 and her phone was switched off since then.
On October 13, a call from Bengal Police directorate informed the family that Das had been found dead and her body was kept in a morgue at the medical college of Umea University where she worked. Das’s family alleged she had been murdered.
