West Bengal: Tutor held for molesting minor student

Kolkata: A 52-year-old tutor was arrested for allegedly misbehaving with a Class-VI student and molesting her at Narayanpur near Baguiati. The accused, Kestogopal Adhikari, a contractual employee of the state transport department — who gives private tuition in computer science — was remanded in judicial custody after being produced in a court.
The mother of the victim alleged in the complaint, lodged with Narayanpur police station, that the accused had called her, asking her to send her daughter for a computer class around 6.30pm. The accused had allegedly taken the child to a friend’s house where he offered to teach her playing harmonium. Adhikari allegedly touched the child inappropriately there. When she protested, he scolded her, saying that a student’s duty was to follow the instruction of her teacher.
