  • SILCHAR: Six Bangladesh nationals have been apprehended by the RPF of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) at Bihara station in Assam's Cachar district.

On Saturday, NFR spokesperson Sabyasachi De said the RPF caught the six during a routine check on October 4. They failed to produce any valid document and confessed to having entered the country illegally. They were later brought to Badarpur and handed over to the officer in-charge, GRP, Badarpur.

De said last week, the RPF rescued 12 minor boys and girls and a woman from different stations during separate drives and checks conducted at Badarpur, Kumarghat, Dimapur, Katihar, and Hasimara stations under the NFR.

"The RPF has been continuing its fight to detect illegal migrants, Rohingya and against human trafficking, etc," De said.
