• Temperature drops 2 degrees in Kolkata; fewer chances of rains this week

  • The city on Monday experienced a drop of two degrees Celsius in both the minimum and maximum temperatures, leaving a chill in the air. The minimum temperature recorded was 18.4 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature was 26.1 degrees Celsius.

    According to the Met office, weather in most districts in south Bengal is expected to remain dry for the next five days, with almost no rainfall.

    However, thunderstorms with lightning are likely to occur at one or two places in Purab and Paschim Midnapore, Purulia, Jhargram and Bankura districts from Wednesday. The weather office also suggests that dry weather will return in these places from Thursday.

    The weather in north Bengal districts like Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Kalimpong, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, North Dinajpur, South Dinajpur, and Malda, is expected to remain dry this week.

    The temperature is expected to remain constant, in most southern districts of Bengal, with minimal fluctuations.
