• 'Why has he run away to Kerala?': TMC questions Bengal governor CV Ananda Bose over sexual allegations

  • KOLKATA: TMC leader Sagarika Ghose, raised concerns on Monday regarding the sexual harassment allegation leveled against CV Ananda Bose, the Governor of West Bengal.

    She said: "Why is the WB Governor CV Ananda Bose hiding behind the constitutional immunity? Why does Ananda Bose not want to face fair inquiry? A young helpless women was sexually harassed by him, not once but twice.She made the complaint at police station."

    "He should provide his side of the story. Why has he run away to Kerala? He was quick to express his sympathy for Sandeshkhali victims. Why is he not showing the same sympathy now?" she added further.

    C V Ananda Bose, while addressing an audience at an event in Kollam on Sunday, acknowledged the efforts to remove him from his position as governor. He stated, "I know that there are several such attempts happening in West Bengal." Bose emphasized his roots, mentioning that he hails from Kollam, Kerala and asserted his resilience against such pressures.

    During his two-day visit to Kerala to attend various events, Bose addressed the sexual assault allegations made against him by a female staff member of the Raj Bhavan. This marked his first public response to the accusations since they surfaced.
