South Bengal residents may get relief from humid weather, rainfall expected from today

After struggling for days from intense heat-humidity combo, south Bengal residents may finally get some relief from uncomfortably warm weather as the weather body has forecast some rainfall this week.
Thunderstorms are forecast across South Bengal from Wednesday. Although there will be mild rainfall today and tomorrow, its intensity will increase from Friday in Kolkata as well. Following this, the temperature will drop by several degrees, making the weather cool and pleasant.
According to Alipore Meteorological Department, the maximum and minimum temperatures in Kolkata today are 35.6 degrees Celsius and 29.4 degrees Celsius respectively. Kolkata may experience heavy rain over the weekend.
Meanwhile, Purulia, Bankura, Birbhum, West Burdwan may experience light rain today accompanied by wind speed of 30-40 kmph. Rain along with thunder are expected in north and south 24 Parganas, East Midnapore, West Midnapore and Jhargram.
On the other hand, warning for heavy rainfall has been put in effect for North Bengal’s Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri throughout this week.
