  • Durgapur: Framing of charges in the multi-crore illegal coal mining case was deferred on Wednesday after the special CBI court asked the central investigating agency to serve the second supplementary chargesheet to each accused. CBI lawyer Somnath Chattopadhyay said the CBI had served the second chargesheet to all accused in custody but the court wanted the agency to serve it to those on bail too.

CBI had earlier arrested seven people. The court on Wednesday granted non-bailable warrants against two absconders — Tarakeswar Roy and Md Shakil — and granted interim bail to five, including two ECL employees. tnn
