Rainfall expected in South Bengal on ratha yatra, heavy lashes continue in northern parts

Despite the presence of scorching sun and high humidity, many south Bengal districts are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall on Sunday - the day of rath yatra.
The weather office has predicted cloudy skies and scattered rainfall in southern parts including Kolkata throughout the day. In addition, chance of rainfall is high in East Midnapore, West Midnapore, Jhargram, Purulia, Bankura, East Burdwan, West Burdwan, Birbhum, Murshidabad and Nadia till next week.
On the other hand, according to the Alipore Meteorological Department, an orange alert for heavy rainfall has been effect for North Bengal"s Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri in North Bengal on Sunday. Rainfall will intensify from Monday.
