Kolkata: An inter-state gang of criminals who used to hijack goods-laden trucks was busted by Bidhannagar police on Sunday night. Probing into a truck theft case, airport police has arrested three so far. In this case, the truck had left Siluguri stacked with tea crates for delivery at a Kidderpore godown in April. While it was crossing Birati, sub-broker Indeejit Singh asked the driver to stop, claiming he would be meeting some people to fetch money and pay him.As he stopped around 2am, some men abducted him and the helper. Singh fled with the loaded truck. Cops have recovered the stolen truck along with another vehicle from Hooghly. tnn
