Kolkata: JU has kept the international relations PhD admission process in abeyance till further orders after students gheraoed interim VC Bhaskar Gupta till Tuesday midnight alleging “irregularities” in the process.
The provisional admission list for the 2024 session was published on Tuesday.
Some said a few students accused of ragging took part in the agitation with students from SFI and TMCP.SFI withdrew their sit-in midway saying “they will not share the protest stage with ragging accused”. TMCP state general secretary Sanjib Pramanick said, “When the process of investigation is on, how was the list published on Tuesday?” Pramanick said he was unaware if students accused of ragging was part of the stir. tnn
