• 54% BCom students clear CU first sem

  • Kolkata: The pass percentage in the first-semester exams for BCom major students in the Calcutta University-affiliated colleges stood at 54% this year under the newly-introduced curriculum and credit framework system. The performance of the BCom students was better than those pursuing UG courses in the science and arts. The pass percentage in the 1st-semester for BA and BSc courses stood at 46% and 44% respectively.

    Last year the pass percentage for BCom students under the choice-based credit system was 63%. Officiating VC Shanta Datta (De) said, “Last year, students appeared for four papers under CBCS and this time, they appeared for seven papers under the new system.”
