Kolkata: A biker and a pedestrian died in two accidents on Friday. The 28-year-old helmetless biker, Kashif Alauddin of Ekbalpore, died after the two-wheeler he was riding was hit by a truck near Alipore Woman’s Correctional Home around 12.45am. He was declared dead on arrival at CMRI Hospital.
Cops said the truck driver sped away after hitting the two-wheeler.
In another accident, 60-year-old Rajkumar Shaw of Dum Dum was run over by a truck at the crossing of Bidhan Sarani and Galiff Street around 6.55am, when he was crossing the road..
He was rushed to RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, where he was declared dead. tnn
