  • Kolkata: Energy Swaraj Foundation founder Chetan Singh Solanki — MP govt’s brand ambassador for solar energy — wants to collaborate with various industry sectors in Bengal to draw up green strategies to promote clean energy and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.

He said it was time Bengal govt came up with a climate action plan. The IIT Bombay professor, known as the Solar Man of India, said this while addressing a panel discussion on climate literacy by CII - Indian Women Network (IWN) Bengal Chapter, in collaboration with Earth Day Network.

In a conversation with TOI, Solanki said that it was time for the state to draw up a mission for industry stakeholders so it would be binding on them to reduce use of fossil fuels.
