• Kolkata Metro rake briefly stranded at Tollygunge station due to power snag

  • Representative Image KOLKATA: A Kolkata Metro train headed for Dakshineswar was momentarily stranded at the Tollygunge station on Tuesday morning due to a power disruption.

    This incident caused train services to be regulated along the older North-South corridor during busy morning hours. Power was restored after approximately 14 minutes.

    "Due to power trip at Mahanayak Uttam Kumar Metro station in Tollygunge about 10.38 am, a Dakshineswar-bound train coming from New Garia was detained for 14 minutes.At 10.52 am, power supply was restored and normal service resumed," a Kolkata Metro spokesperson said.

    As a result of the power issue, Dakshineswar-bound trains and those heading to Kavi Subhas in New Garia were also regulated.
