Kolkata: Civic personnel found suspected human bones and a skull in a drain and a bush while cleaning a drainage channel at New Town’s Tarulia on Wednesday afternoon.
Conservancy worker guarded the area till a team of officers from Bidhannagar commissionerate arrived on the scene.
The police suspect the recovered objects to be human parts, but have sent the same for forensic investigation to ascertain the exact nature and age of the skeleton.
Residents of the area said the bones looked very old.
