Kolkata: Police have registered a case against Sunanda Sarkar, the Trinamool councillor of ward 18, hours after a video surfaced showing her slapping local party functionary Kedar Das. The FIR was drawn up on the written complaint of Kedar and names seven others. The councillor had earlier denied having slapped Kedar. However, Sarkar has not issued any fresh statement in this regard on Wednesday.
Four persons have been arrested in this regard till Wednesday evening..
Two of the FIR-named accused Tablu Adhikary (46) of Sonagachhi Lane and Debashis Das (42) alias Appu of Ramjoy Seal Lane allegedly owe allegiance to Sarkar. tnn
