Kolkata: A 77-year-old woman was run over by a long-distance bus in Thakurpukur on Thursday morning. Her daughter was injured in the accident. In the evening, a class XI student died after he fell off a bus while alighting from it on VIP Road near the Haldirams crossing.
Angikar Dasgupta (17) was returning to his Mall Road home from his Salt Lake school.“While alighting, he fell on his back and his head dashed against the road before he came under the wheels,” said a Bidhannagar cop.
The other victim, Bishnupriya Patra from Shirakol, and her daughter, Minakshi Das (54), were trying to cross towards MG Road. “They suddenly came in front of it,” said an officer. The driver was arrested.tnn
