Representative image KOLKATA: A Class 11 student returning home from his Salt Lake school died after he accidentally fell from a bus while deboarding at VIP Road near Haldirams crossing on Thursday evening.
Police said Angikar Dasgupta (17), a resident of Mall Road off Jessore Road had jumped off the bus while it was still moving.
“He even got off in the opposite direction and thus lost his balance and fell on his back.His head rammed against the road before he came under the wheels of the same bus,” said an officer of Bidhannagar City Police.
He was rushed to a private hospital from where he was sent to Barasat district hospital, but he died on the way. The accident happened around 5.30pm. Following the accident, local residents and relatives of the boy demonstrated on the service road near Space Town where the accident had happened.
