  • Representative Image KOLKATA: From now on, developers and builders of new buildings in New Town, having valid and sanctioned building plans will be allowed to stack building construction materials on the footpath by leaving a 1.5 meter gap abutting the construction site so that pedestrians could move on the footpath freely.

The New Town Kolkata development authority (NKDA) on Friday issued a notification in this regard.A SOP to follow the order will be notified next week, officials said.

Earlier, NKDA had come up with instructions that all future building developers in New Town must submit a prior construction management plan as to how they would be stacking construction materials and will dispose of demolition waste and rubbish during construction work following which their building plan will be sanctioned.
