  • Kolkata: East Bengal returned to winning ways thrashing Police AC 6-0 in a CFL Premier Division match at home on Friday. It was one-way traffic as Bino George’s boys displayed attacking football running through their rivals scoring two goals in the first half and adding four more in the second. The win took East Bengal to the top of Group B with 13 points from five matches.

Sayan Banerjee opened the floodgates scoring in the 17th minute deceiving goalkeeper Subhankar Das while PV Vishnu added one more in the 41st minute controlling the ball at the edge of the box and getting past two defenders with a sharp turn.

The red-and-gold brigade came out with renewed vigour in the second session with Shyam Besra finding the net from a pass from Aman in the 64th minute. The next two goals were scored by Jesin TK in the 67th and 72rd minutes. Aman rounded off the tally scoring from a Jesin pass.
