Kolkata: The state environment department and the KMC have adopted zero tolerance as far as filling of ponds and water bodies is concerned. However, the action will be taken jointly by the civic administration and the cops, said mayor Firhad Hakim on Saturday.
Hakim was reacting to allegations of filling of a large pond near Nabanna and others in some parts of Kolkata.According to Hakim, the KMC and cops will need to act fast on specific information about pond filling. TNN
