  • Kolkata: The Kasba Police has now received a report that the two skulls and the bone of a hand that were recovered from an under-construction site at Haltu in Kasba on July 18 belonged to three women.

The entire postmortem and forensic reports are still awaited, but cops have confirmed that only the two skulls were that of women. Suggestions that they were used for black magic has also gained credence.Cops have also ruled out any homicidal chance in two of the three human body parts recovered thus far.

According to police, the area from where the human parts were recovered is filled with alcohol bottles, suggesting that the accused could have been meeting there regularly. Cops are now ascertaining if there was any illegal digging in the nearby graveyard. “We have not yet ruled out the possibility of these human parts were being dug from nearby spots,” said an officer.

Cops said they will carry out DNA profiling of the skeletal parts and the process will be videographed.
