• Over 1.2L UG seats allotted in upgrade round

  • Kolkata: Over 1.2 lakh candidates, who had signed up on the centralised admission portal, were allotted seats in colleges in the upgrade round. Of the total applicants, 62,423 students were offered upgraded options according to their first preference, and 58,804 from the waiting list secured allotments. The list was published on Wednesday.

    Around 28,000 students took fresh admission, indicating more than 50% students, who failed to secure seats in the first round, will now be eligible.A higher education department official said, “A total of 62,423 students have been admitted, based on their second or third choices.” tnn
