Kolkata: KMC’s advertisement department has decided to replace two-legged structures displaying advertisements with monopoles to reduce visual pollution. “Except for some major traffic intersections, the number of monopoles will be restricted within a km stretch of any road,” said a civic official. Piers of flyovers, FOBs or skywalks maintained by govt organizations, signal poles, secondary poles, cantilever poles, blinker poles and police assistance booths will also be free of advertisement clutter.tnn
