Kolkata: A contractor of construction materials was murdered and left on the road in Uttar Panchannagram, off EM Bypass, on Friday. The body reportedly lay on the road unattended for a long time till police arrived. But Lalbazar officers declined to comment on it.
Arif Khan, a resident of Joributi Gully under Anandapur PS, had gone to a site in nearby Panchannagram.He was walking, when he was reportedly accosted by Abbas, who had an old rivalry over contracts. Two others joined. “Abbas and the two attacked him with a chopper and left him with bleeding injuries. CNMC Hospital declared him ‘brought dead’,” said addl CP (I) Murlidhar Sharma.
