Kolkata: The police claim that Bihar-based gangster Subodh Singh, who was brought to Bengal on transit remand by the CID in the cases involving the murder of Titagarh councillor Manish Shukla has confessed to at least five major crimes in Barrackpore industrial belt during interrogation.
Police sources said Singh’s confession is expected to shed light on several unsolved cases, such as the murder of a Barrackpore Anandapuri jewellery showroom owner Niladri Singha in 2023 following a gold heist, and a recent shooting incident in Belgharia.Cops on Saturday sought an extension of Singh’s police remand to further investigate and corroborate his statements.
