• Theft at ACP’s house; gold, cash looted

  • Kolkata: A case of theft has been reported from the residence of an ACP at the police quarters in Tollygunge.

    “The theft took place on Monday between 11 am and 6.30 pm after unidentified miscreants entered the quarters of ACP A K Dubey located on the ninth floor of the police quarters on S P Mukherjee Road.

    The accused broke open the padlock of the main door and committed theft of some gold ornaments when the daughter of the ACP had just left for office.A case has been recorded under various sections of BNS pertaining to theft,” said an officer.

    On Monday, upon returning from work, the ACP and her daughter found the lock of their house broken and the place ransacked. They said that the cupboard inside the house was broken and gold jewellery were missing from there. Cash and other valuable items were also missing.

    Investigators are examining the CCTV footage and ascertaining if anyone from outside had entered.
