Kolkata: State urban development department has sanctioned additional funds worth around Rs 1.4 crore for the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation (BMC) to repair interior roads passing through some more blocks in Salt Lake.
The civic body has been repairing the roads in Salt Lake blocks that had been lying in a deplorable state for long.
Earlier, the authorities had conducted patch work before Durga Puja and later took up a thorough repair of the main road stretches.Subsequently, the revamp of interior roads kicked off.
The approval has been granted for repairing and maintenance of roads in EC, CD, CC and DD blocks and inside Laboni Abason, an official said.—Suman Chakrabarti
