Kolkata: Calcutta High Court on Thursday directed the Malda sub-divisional officer to serve notice on three private respondents, asking them to come to the SDO office for verification of documents for the Scheduled Caste certificates issued to them.
A division bench of Chief Justice TS Sivagnanam and Justice Hiranmay Bhattacharyya passed the order after taking note that the Malda SDO and the Chanchal SDO had cancelled two SC certificates each, soon after the matter went to the HC.
The petitioner had alleged that caste certificates were issued to eight persons who didn’t belong to the community.
