Kolkata: Calcutta High Court on Thursday directed the state to conduct an inquiry into an allegation of fund misappropriation under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana scheme at a Magrahat village in South 24 Parganas.
The counsel for the petitioner submitted that the age mentioned in an application form didn’t match with the photograph of the beneficiary at the compliance stage.A 28-year-old woman’s photograph had been affixed to the form of a 72-year-old, the counsel submitted.
The division bench of Chief Justice T S Sivagnanam and Justice Hiranmay Bhattacharyya directed the state to submit a report within six weeks.
