MSC achieved the right to play in the ISL after wining the I-league last season.

Shrachi Sports Ventures bought 50 per cent stake from Bunker Hill, who earlier owned 61 per cent stake in Mohammedan Sporting Club Pvt Ltd. Under the new agreement, both Shrachi Sports Venture and Bunker Hill will now own 30.5 per cent stake each while the rest will be with the club.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is learnt to have played a pivotal role in making this deal possible as it was she who set the ball rolling during her visit to Spain last year.

Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly too came forward with a helping hand and has agreed to promote the club for free in the national platform in the future.
