Kolkata: The Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) will seek legal assistance against a section of promoters who first flout building rules and then move court against the civic body’s demolition drive, mayor Firhad Hakim said on Saturday.
He said this after receiving a call from a Chakgaria resident (located off Bypass) during the Talk to Mayor session.The caller complained of inaction by the civic team in demolishing an unauthorized building that has come up adjacent to her house. “The KMC is taking time to raze the building because of a stay order. Now we also need to change our strategy and appeal to the court against such a stay order,” said Hakim. tnn
