Kolkata: Metro Railway on Monday increased services of the Orange line by another 26 and operations hours from 8am to 8pm. The line will, however, remain closed on weekends.
All this time, the Orange line, which now runs 5.5km from New Garia to Ruby crossing, operated from 9am to 4.40pm, with 48 services. Now the number has increased to 74. With the increase in services the ridership went up by 50%.The line, which has an interface at New Garia with the North-South line, will eventually cover 29km from New Garia to airport. TNN
