  • Kolkata: Mohun Bagan SG blew away Eastern Railway SC 5-0 on Monday to keep their hopes alive in the ongoing CFL Premier Division.

Salahudheen Adnan K was the chief architect of Mohun Bagan’s demolition job at the Naihati stadium, scoring a second-half hat-trick and handing Deggie Cardozo’s team their second win in a row.

If Suhail Bhat was the hat-trick hero in Bagan’s 5-1 rout of Tollygunge Agragami last Tuesday, Salahudheen — nicknamed Salah — stole the show against the railway team.

Salah scored in the 62, 82 and 90+6 minutes. Fardin Ali Molla (32nd minute) and Raj Basfore (penalty in 80th minute) were the other scorers.

With 12 points from 7 games, Bagan are in fifth place. Bhawanipore FC (19 points from 7 matches) and Calcutta Customs (19 points from 8 matches) are leading the group while East Bengal stay third with 16 points from 6 matches.

Three teams from the group will advance to the championship round.
