  • Kolkata: The shooting for SVF’s as-yet untitled puja release began at Technicians’ Studio on Tuesday. This development was facilitated after members of Federation of Cine Technicians Workers of Eastern India (FCTWEI) convened on Monday and reached a consensus to acknowledge Rahool Mukherjee as the director of the Prosenjit Chatterjee starrer. The indoor filming commenced on Tuesday at Technicians’ Studio with actors Anirban Bhattacharya and Priyanka Sarkar, before the unit moved to shoot in various streets of Kolkata.

“We implore everyone not to sully the federation by casting aspersions on us or create a negative perception about the work ethic of Bengal before everyone. We adhere to the rulebook and work for the welfare of approximately 8,500 technicians,” FCTWEI president Swarup Biswas told TOI.

Director Subrata Sen, secretary of DAEI, told TOI, “DAEI is an integral part of FCTWEI. There was a misapprehension which has been resolved with the intervention of our chief minister and the veterans in the industry. Irrespective of the circumstances, no director will be suspended from work. A committee will be constituted in the next three months, which will establish the rules to be adhered to if anything transpires unexpectedly.”
