Kolkata: A 40-year-old man was arrested from his residence by Nadial police on Friday for allegedly raping a minor, twice, within a span of four days this month.
The accused, Mohammad Ali Thandar, will be in police custody till August 17. He has been charged under BNS sections 65(2)/351(3) along with sections 6 & 10 Pocso Act on the basis of recorded and signed statements of the complainant.
“On Aug 3, around 7 pm and on Aug 7, around 7.30 pm, the accused allegedly sexually assaulted the minor in a dark lane in the neighbourhood and threatened her with dire consequences,” said DC (Port) Harikrishna Pai.tnn
