Kolkata: Bengal Special Task Force (STF) recovered 58kg of explosive materials used in making crude bombs from the Suti area of Murshidabad, close to the international border, during a joint raid with local police on Friday.
One Akbar Biswas (30) of Murshidabad was arrested.
Cops recovered the same from the store room of a house that the accused had taken on lease.
Some materials were also kept beneath the seat of a toto parked nearby.
The accused had intended to sell the materials to local criminals in Malda and Murshidabad said SP (operations) Indrajit Basu. tnn
