• Sundarbans tourism set to get costlier from Sep

  • Kolkata: The forest department has revised tourism fees in the Sundarbans Tiger Reserve and the new rates will be applicable from Sep 1.

    In a notification issued by the chief wildlife warden, it has been stated the daily entry fees per Indian tourist will stand revised at Rs 180, while the same for foreigners will be Rs 1,000. Per day charge for a tourist visiting Netidhopani will be Rs 300.According to the notification, entry fee for non-AC boat, non-AC launch and AC launch-boat has been revised to Rs 1,000, Rs 1,500 and Rs 3,000, respectively. Similarly, daily guide charges for Indian tourists will be Rs 800 while that of foreign tourists will be Rs 2,000.

    Charges for shooting films and advertisements have also been revised. “Charges for shooting of still/videos with crew members up to 3 will be Rs 5,000 per day, while the same for crew members up to 10 will be Rs 25,000 for a maximum of three days,” the notice said.

    Annual registration charges for AC/non-AC launch, 6-cylinder, 4-cylinder, and 2-cylinder boats, too, have been revised.
