Kolkata: A woman was allegedly molested at gunpoint by a man, who allegedly broke into her house at Lake Gardens on July 15. She has approached the Calcutta High Court, seeking justice and alleging police inaction. The case was heard by Justice Rajarshi Bharadwaj’s bench on Wednesday. The HC said the probe should continue under the supervision of an assistant commissioner and the progress be reported to it at the next hearing on Aug 23.
The woman, whose husband is a bureaucrat, claimed she was returning home from work around 11.30 pm, when a drunk man tried to molest her.She managed to escape. But, she alleged, the next morning, the accused broke into the house, held a gun to her head and molested her. tnn
