  • KOLKATA: Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College & Hospital, where a trainee woman doctor was raped and murdered on August 9 in West Bengal, has sought protection from the Calcutta high court, alleging that his life is in danger.

    The Court has further instructed Ghosh's legal representative to submit an additional affidavit if there are any other matters that need to be brought to the court's attention or if there are any further claims to be made.

    Dr Sandip Ghosh, the dismissed principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, has been labeled as a "very corrupt person" by his former colleagues at the health facility.

    Ghosh has come under intense scrutiny after a trainee postgraduate doctor was found raped and murdered within the hospital premises.
