• Man shot 'after bad road protest' in West Bengal

  • BEHRAMPORE: A 44-year-old man was shot dead at Ramna village of Murshidabad allegedly after he demanded repair of a local road and criticised panchayat leaders. Two persons were detained in connection with his murder on Friday. Victim Babar Ali was at home when five persons shot at him. He was declared dead at Kanapukur Block Primary Hospital.

    Ali's wife Tansura Bibi said, "My husband, a Trinamool worker, had demanded repair of a damaged road."

    Local Trinamool MLA Reyat Hossain said, "Cops will arrest the culprits."
