Kolkata doctor horror: CBI checking Ghosh's statement with others'

From doctors to the civil society, people from all walks of life are hitting the streets to demand justice for the victim KOLKATA: The CBI also quizzed former principal Sandip Ghosh's former colleagues - Arunava Dutta Chowdhury (head of the chest department) and former superintendent of the institute Sanjay Vashisth.
The investigators are now trying to piece together the sequence of events that led to the doctor's murder. They have recorded statements of more than 32 witnesses.On Saturday morning, a close friend of the victim appeared before agency officers. CBI is now corroborating Ghosh's statement with that of others.
On Thursday, the victim's parents had told CBI they suspected that arrested accused Sanjay Roy was not the main culprit and he was acting at the behest of others. They said they were convinced that it was a case of gang rape and alleged there was a deliberate attempt to cover up the crime by the hospital authorities. The said they were told over phone that their daughter had committed suicide and were made to wait for over three hours at the hospital to see their daughter's body. Later, the victim's father told newspersons that they had handed over all documents to the CBI .
