Security issues remain as Bagan, EB set for potential Durand final

Kolkata: The Durand Cup organisers on Sunday announced the quarterfinals line-up with East Bengal FC and Mohun Bagan SG set for a potential final.
In the quarterfinals, East Bengal will now face Lajong FC in Shillong on Wednesday and Mohun Bagan take on Punjab FC in Jamshedpur two days later.
The city is supposed to host both the semifinals and the final on Aug 31.
However, given the volatile situation in the city, the police may again object to holding another high-voltage derby at the stadium, should both the teams make the title round. According to sources, organisers are also keeping open the option of shifting the final out of Kolkata in case it is played by the Big 2. tnn
QUARTERS LINE-UP — Aug 21: Northeast United FC vs Indian Army FT (4pm at Kokrajhar); Shillong Lajong FC vs East Bengal FC (7pm at Shillong). Aug 23: Mohun Bagan SG vs Punjab FC (4pm at Jamshedpur); Bengaluru FC vs Kerala Blasters (7pm at Kolkata)
