  • KOLKATA: Actor-turned-politician Mithun Chakraborty has slammed the West Bengal government over the rape and murder of a doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata.

    Taking to social media platform 'X', the veteran actor highlighted growing concerns over women's safety, and demanded justice for the victim.

    "The condition in West Bengal will turn worse in the days to come. As a Bengali I no longer have the strength to keep my head straight. My sympathies are with the victim's family. Those who are involved, should immediately be arrested and punished," the actor said.

    The 31-year-old trainee woman doctor was raped and murdered on August 9 at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
