  • Kolkata: Former TMC Rajya Sabha MP Kunal Ghosh went to the CBI office on Monday to submit some documents. After coming out of the central Kolkata office, Ghosh directed most of his comments at the Left era and its “misrule” at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, reports Dwaipayan Ghosh.

On Monday, while not disclosing the contents of the documents, Ghosh said that some RG Kar students had submitted the documents to him and requested him to hand them over to CBI.

He also mentioned that he had not verified the authenticity of the documents but believed they might be useful to the central agency.

Ghosh referred to the 2001 death of RG Kar student Soumitra Biswas and said that he was murdered and the incident was passed off as a suicide. He said, “Those who are now raising a hue and cry and talking about anarchy should also remember the events of 2001.” Questions are being raised as to whether the TMC neta submitted documents regarding the 23-year-old case.

Ghosh added that some RG Kar alumni have demanded justice for Biswas’s murder.
