Kolkata: The Association of Chest Physicians West Bengal (ACPWB), of which the raped and murdered second-year respiratory medicine PGT was part of, said they would continue to bat for justice till it is met. The doctors of the association are in regular touch with parents of the 31-year-old.
“We have assured all support, including legal and financial, her parents need.
And we will continue to fight till the real culprits are arrested and punished,” said Jaydip Deb, secretary ACPWB, who is also the head of respiratory medicine at NRS Medical College.
The PGT used to regularly take part in seminars, workshops and conferences organised by the association.
“ Even as the horrific rape and murder has united the world in seeking justice the cops are summoning doctors and other people who are speaking about the crime,” said pulmonologist Raja Dhar. Dhar was also served a summons by Kolkata Police, which was later cancelled.
“We had never felt so insecure in hospital campuses,” said respiratory medicine assistant professor Priyanka Ray.
